Copy Editing & Refinement
Your copy rewritten to work better: sharper, clearer, more specifically aimed at the decision you need the reader to make. Not proofreading. Structural editing of copy that needs to do more than it currently does.
What this service covers
Copy editing is different from proofreading. Proofreading fixes errors. Copy editing fixes arguments. When copy is not converting, it usually is not because of typos. It is because the headline is not earning the first scroll, the argument is in the wrong order, the CTA is asking for something the reader has not yet been convinced to give, or the tone is not matching the reader's state of mind at the point they arrive on the page. We take copy that is functionally complete but not performing as expected, and identify specifically what structural changes would make it more effective. The process begins with a diagnostic: we read what you have and document exactly what is not working and why, with reference to the specific reader journey the copy is supposed to serve. Then we rewrite to fix those specific problems, rather than rewriting arbitrarily. The result is a piece of copy that works harder than what you had, with a clear explanation of why each change was made.
